安省警方表示，周三深夜，一辆载有36名学生的校车在Burlington Skyway上与一辆抛锚车辆相撞，导致一人重伤。
省警警长Kerry Schmidt在X上发布的视频中表示，接近午夜时，一名来自St. Catharines的61岁女子驾驶的车在Queen Elizabeth Way南行下坡路段突然故障熄火。
Schmidt说，这名女司机下车后将车辆留在高速公路的行车道上，她本人则站在高速公路右侧的混凝土墙旁。
此时校车正驶上大桥坡顶。
Schmidt说：“校车司机无法及时判断并避开碰撞。校车撞上该车辆，车辆随后又撞向站在车外的女司机。”
Schmidt说，这名女性身受重伤，被送往医院。
Schmidt向CTV表示，校车上共有36名学生、3名教师和一名司机，均未受伤。校车当时正从一次校外教学返回。
事故调查期间，高速公路最右侧三条车道曾关闭，现已重新开放。
Schmidt表示，这起事故提醒驾驶者在繁忙高速上车辆抛锚时应采取正确措施。
