Controversies after the publication of the "Truth Magazine II"

　　Since the 2nd issue of the Truth Magazine was published on August 18th 2006, we were repeatedly harassed and the Chinese communities across the country were disturbed as well. Because of that and to clear your mind of doubts about certain defamatory remarks, the following is a review of what has happened so far.

　　1.After the publication of the Truth Magazine in August last year, the disciples of Falun Gong showed up at every possible distribution place to hunt for it and ended up quarrelling with the store owners. We received a lot of complaints saying that the disciples of Falun Gong behaved unreasonably and arrogantly. They forced the store owners to hand over or destroy all copies of the Truth Magazine. The store owners were annoyed by the disciples' behavior since they were the ardent supporters of the Truth Magazine. Canada is a country where freedom of speech is legally protected. Why can't they distribute the Truth Magazine? What should not be distributed is the mind-controlling and untruthful speech of the Epoch Times!

　　The store owners were in the right legally, reasonably and sentimentally since Canada is a free, democratic and legalistic country and freedom of speech is protected by the charter of rights.

　　In spite of that, the disciples of Falun Gong insisted the store owners to obey their order in an extremely arrogant way and even threatened them with lawsuits if they didn't "stop distributing this kind of magazine right away." The disciples also said: "Should you reject our advice, your company and owner might be sued for damages." Any store owner with common sense would be outraged by their mean act.

　　Falun Gong tends to threaten people with lawsuits but it didn't work this time. The store owners wouldn't compromise and continued distributing the Truth Magazine.

　　In fact, an incident like this did happen in the city of San Francisco; some one stole a few copies of the Epoch Times. The disciples of Falun Gong called the police to "arrest a thief." Under the banner of "Truthfulness, compassion and forbearance", they are allowed to do that but you are not because you "steal". This is the real colors of the so-called cultivators.

　　2.Since the publication of the Truth Magazine, the Epoch Times circulating in both Montreal and Ottawa viciously attacked it and Mr.Chau in several articles. Strange to say, the articles only appeared on the Epoch times in Montreal and Ottawa but not elsewhere. Obviously it is not a concerted attack. Didn't they try to hide something or they didn't want to expose their real ambition? We are not afraid of debates because the truth is the truth except that you don't want to show us the truth.

　　3.Beside the above-mentioned journalistic attacks, we also received some anonymous threatening phone calls, faxes and letters with vicious contents regarding the safety to Mr.Chau and his family. We decided to call the police and were informed recently about the progressed in the investigation.

　　We do think that everything can be debated in a democratic and legalistic society. As media, we believe we are obligated to accept different opinions but we strongly oppose to any illegal smearing campaign and we will take it very serious!

　　4.Canada is a society in which people of different races live in harmony and their different points of view in politics can be debated in a peaceful process to reach a reasonable and commonly accepted conclusion. Since the publication of the Truth Magazine, we discovered the disciples of Falun Gong distributed fliers in the street to spread untrue information in order to undermine the authority of the Truth Magazine, the Chinese Press and the publisher Mr.Chau. They even defamed the Chinese Press by saying that it was "the propaganda mechanism of the Chinese Communist Party" with a mission to incite hatred. As media, we have to defend ourselves and accuse them of wrenching passages of passages of the Truth Magazine from their context and twisting their meanings to give a wrong expression. The publication of the Truth Magazine is one of our counter-attack tactics.

　　Soon after the Truth Magazine was published in August last year, the disciples of Falun Gong in the cities where the magazine was distributed filed complaints at local police stations: "The magazine is a serious issue of hatred incitement." According to sources, most of their complaints were rejected. Because the Montreal police wanted to collect further information, they invite Mr.Chau for an interview. Mr.Chau was out of the country by the time and when he came back, he collaborated with the police. Mr.Chau discovered in their complaint, the disciples of Falun Gong only translated some passages of the Truth Magazine to twist their original meanings and added with the ridiculous Falun Gong propaganda terms. They didn't mention any of the 8 pages of English articles in the magazine. Finally, the case is closed.

　　Since people in the community all know about the original contents of those passages, the disciples of Falun Gong can deceive no one by their tricky translation.

　　Whether it is true or false, we should handle it with peace of mind and which is our principle. Why uttering falsehoods?
　　

　　In China or else where, there have been numerous examples of Falun Gong's falsehoods. Sustained by "Falsehood, evil and ugliness" for a long time, we can't help wondering how longer the so-called "Truthfulness, compassion and forbearance" can last? Here is our advice: "You have to treat your homeland and people as well as the Canadian society in all sincerity or you will get farther away and fall in misery!"
